a few things

that shape the way i see.

My approach to wedding photography began long before I photographed weddings.

For years, I was drawn to street photography. To small scenes, interesting light and the kind of moments that exist for only a fraction of a second. Looking closely became a habit. It still informs the way I work today.

I’m equally fascinated by architecture, design and the way people interact with a space. A historic villa, a modern hotel, a quiet corner of a room – the setting is never just a backdrop. It shapes the atmosphere of a day as much as the people do.

At weddings, I spend most of my time observing rather than directing. Paying attention to what is already there instead of trying to create it. Occasionally I’ll step in when the light is particularly good or a situation benefits from a little guidance, but my instinct is always to start by looking.

I’m drawn to photographs with character. Images that feel natural rather than overly polished. Sometimes it’s the perfectly composed frame. Sometimes it’s something a little less expected.

I still find myself looking for the same things I looked for in the street years ago – good light, interesting people and moments that couldn’t have been arranged if you tried.
